I can honestly say that my wife and I cannot compliment the folks at J.M. Froehler enough for the craftsmanship and customer service they provided us on our projects. We were one of the houses hit by the tornado a few years back. The contractor we originally lined up for repairs was a dud. In comes Matthew Froehler and his staff to save the day! All projects were completed timely, on budget, and with expert craftsmanship. The project manager assigned to us, Brian, was amazing. He was at our home every day first thing in the morning making sure all workers were on task, and made sure everything was cleaned up (including all construction dust) at the end of every day. Communication was excellent. When all work was completed and the morning visits stopped, both my wife and I agreed that we missed seeing Brian in the mornings. He had become a friendly part of our days.
After the tornado repairs, we decided to do an addition of a screened in patio with fireplace and outside kitchen (my dream spot). Matthew helped us design it, and once again, the work was outstanding. The project stayed both on time and on budget which is unheard of with construction. The patio is our favorite part of our house, and always gets endless compliments from guests. Brian was once again our project manager, and once again we went through a bought of empty nest syndrome when the project ended and his visits during each morning’s breakfast stopped.
I will admit they are on the higher end of pricing, BUT THEIR WORK, CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE MATCH THEIR PRICE! THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY! If you have any construction needs, you need to do yourself a solid and reach out to them.

JM Froehler has been one of the best contractors I have worked with. Being in construction my entire life, I was extremely pleased with their quality, communication, and overall family atmosphere that Matt & Mike gave us. Quality owners leads to quality workers which ends in quality jobs and finishes. Thank you Froehler for giving us our dream home.

From the quality of the build to the attention to detail and overall professionalism, it’s clear they take pride in what they create. It’s not just about building homes—it’s about delivering something that truly lasts.
As a real estate agent, I’m always paying attention to who I trust to refer my clients to, and this is someone I would confidently recommend to anyone looking to build or invest in something done right.
Grateful to be connected and excited for future opportunities to collaborate and serve clients at a high level.

If you’re looking for a top-tier contractor for your home renovation, look no further than JM Froehler!
We purchased a home built in 1982 that still had most of its original features. My husband and I had a clear vision for the renovation but wanted a contractor with experience, insight, and fresh ideas—the Froehler brothers delivered exactly that. Matt and his brother Mike grew up in this industry and bring decades of expertise to the table.
During our initial walk-through, Matt patiently listened to my ideas, provided honest feedback on feasibility, and suggested thoughtful design improvements. Once we signed the contract, the team immediately got to work. JM Froehler’s reputation for integrity and fairness was evident in the relationships they have with industry partners and their extensive network of highly skilled and reliable subcontractors. My interaction with everyone they brought into our project (B&T Kitchens, Noland Plumbing, Daltile, and all the special trade subcontractors) was extremely positive.
A standout feature of their process is the use of technology. Every detail—budget, schedule, change orders, material selections, and communication—is managed through an app, making the renovation process incredibly transparent and efficient.
The true hero of our project was JR, our project manager. Managing a full-home renovation with complex scheduling is no small task, yet JR handled it flawlessly. He ensured we stayed on schedule, coordinated the best tradesmen for each job, and maintained an unwavering commitment to quality. His keen eye for detail and perfectionist approach meant that even the smallest imperfections were addressed before we even noticed them.
JM Froehler has completely transformed our home, and the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. From transparent communication and expert craftsmanship to timeliness and budget management, they exceeded our expectations in every way. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Really fantastic experience with Froehler throughout our entire remodel/add on process. Matt made himself immediately available when I first reached out and provided a detailed quote not a generalized range - and stuck to that number all the way to completion of the project. Matt, Mike, our site manager JR and everybody at Froehler were super communicative and I was able to be highly engaged and involved. They even beat our schedule by a couple of weeks and got us back in the house before Christmas. I can't recommend them highly enough!

I called to have someone come out for a quote on flooring and a remodel of a bath. Woman on the line didn’t listen to what I was looking for. I said I have a plumber taking apart my bath due to a leak and looking to remodel while it’s all tore out. She said they were too busy for my project. Business must be great if they’re turning people away.

Froehler was superb from beginning to end. They have an amazing team from the office to the field. Their commitment to the schedule, budget and quality was never compromised, they were on time, on budget and the home turned out better than we could have ever hoped. The follow up and response we had after the construction was incredible to further demonstrate their integrity. I would recommend Mike and Matt and their team to anyone! Thank you all for a great experience!

My family and I were affected by the Virginia Beach tornado and Matt and team came in and did fantastic job getting us back in our home. From top to bottom they run a great operation and communicate effectively about each stage of the work. We can't thank them enough for working hard and providing quality craftmanship so we could be home again. We would highly recommend them for your next home project. Thank you JM Froehler Construction!

It was a pleasure working with this company from start to finish. They were highly recommended to us and we followed up with our own research and vetting of other local builders. Froehler consistently impressed us. From the initial contact Matt and Mike Froehler were personable, knowledgable, patient, and informative about the planning of our large addition. Every trade associated with our build (plan drawings, site prep, foundation, framing, siding, roofing, plumping, electrical, HVAC, drywall, trim, painting, cabinetry, flooring, bathroom doors, etc) was professional, meticulous, courteous, clean, and a pleasure to have in our home. Froehler has the best! Our original home in Alanton is almost 50 years old and presented challenges in matching up the old with the new but Froehler was able to beautifully construct the addition so that it looks as if it was always there. A special shout out goes to JR, our foreman and fixer who was consistently a very responsive, resourceful, and creative problem solver, plus a great guy to have watching over our home! We lived in the house during the build and also had to be gone for several weeks. JR handled everything so that our family got through this build with the minimum of stress. Our new addition is beautiful and built with integrity and quality materials. I know we will enjoy it for many years and we are very proud grateful to say JM Froehler Construction was our builder!

Good day Tidewater!
I added 1100 square feet. The execution of Froehler Construction (FC) was seamless. I live in an historic home and my goal was to be able to look at my home and not see an addition, rather it looks as if the new construction was always there.
!!FROEHLER CONSTRUCTION NAILED IT!!
All historical trim work and tie ins to original construction exceed my expectations.
FC wants you to succeed, and they will work to that end on your behalf.
Customer Service:
I have spent the last 20 years working for a Fortune 100 organization and the stakes were high. I was thoroughly impressed to see a local company meet many of the expectations that we have spent billions on expecting from our employees.
The saying goes if you want the customer to love the product, then the employee needs to love the company.
Froehler group is a family. Matt, Mike, JR were (always available). When they weren’t able to answer the phone, they sent out a courtesy text letting me know they were on the other line and call backs were prompt.
Efficiency:
They are a train and once that train moves it doesn’t slow down. This means you can expect 9.9 out of 10 obligations and deadlines met.
Cost:
I feel old. Remember when gas was under one dollar. I takes a bit of coin to move stone these days. However, I did my research and I found FC was cost effective compared to its competitors.
Utilize their masterful skills and find you’ll be happy you did.
Thanks Froehler Construction - you have a net promote and I wish you all the best.
